Cowboy...Errr...Girl Boots!

I could seriously go to a hoe-down if I added Cowboy/girl boots to my outfit! Not the intended effect, but hey I'll go with it! :-) I actually would like a pair of said boots, but need to find a reasonably priced, good looking, mock pair. I've learned that if you go looking for authentic cowboy boots, be ready to pay a mint! Not that I mind paying for great quality, but I have to be realistic in that I am not the kinda gal who would get my moneys worth out of cowboy boots. I mean, let's just call a spade a spade. :-)

Two Days in One!!

Oh Kate!

Let me begin with a confession...I did not follow the challenge on Saturday or Sunday. Womp womp...sorry peeps! My reasoning is this- Saturday was hot as you-know-what and I was having a vineyeard outing so I decided to wear a comfy jersey sundress (didn't find anything similar on Pinterest)and on Sunday, I literally cleaned and lounged with the hubs at home so I wasn't going to fake and put on some fab outfit to do that. :-) As much as I like Pinterest, I feel it a little limiting. Though I'm enjoying this challenge, I also am really appreciating being an individual. I love looking to others for inspiration here and there, but using other whole outfits doesn't always work for me. Plus, what led me to even begin this blog was the fact that I was enjoying coming up with my own ensembles as a creative outlet. SO...that being said, my initial thought of doing this for a month is losing steam. Not because this is hard (I like/welcome a hard challenge), but because I'm not feeling as inspired as I thought I would. Maybe I'm not following the right people on Pinterest. I do have a lot of lovely outfits on my board, but  they all seem to be in a different "category". Like, too dressy for work, or too out of season (fall layering, etc). Lots of cute shorts outfits, but somehow don't work well for my life. For example, two of the outfits I wore this weekend include shorts, but one used a scarf and one long sleeves. In NOVA neither of those things make sense in July. I did it, but why do a challenge if you are literally miserable and uncomfortable? This is supposed to be fun, right?!. Anyway, we'll see! Here are the outfits from this weekend as well as what I'm wearing today.

Day 3- Pin to Real Life Challenge

Hey there everyone! I've discovered yet another gorgeous fashionista to follow along with!  I love discovering new blogs that inspire my fashion creativity! To me, fashion is like a little live art show. There are so many women who create art everyday by just choosing a funky, fresh, and unique ensemble. Sometimes it may not be so unique, but more classically chic and that is beautiful and artistic too! This chic chick, Ashley Torres, is from LA and her blog is called: Life, Love and the Pursuit of Shoes! Love that name! Her hot pink dress and cobalt bag caught my eye on Pinterest. She was going to a wedding looking FAB, while I am sadly just coming to work. :-) Anyway, I realized I had a pink dress in the back of my closet that I have not worn yet (who knows why)! What better way to unveil than to wear with my *NEW* cobalt blue bag from StyleRide. Two quick things...I have been looking for a cobalt bag for a while now (like since the fall if not last summer) AND I am SO happy to have discovered StyleRide while innocently shopping for fresh fruits and veggies at a local farmer's market. For all you DC/NOVA folks, Cindy rides around in style selling amazingly fun and beautiful clothing and accessories, even coming to YOU for a girls night if you'd like! I met her at the Stone Ridge Farmer's Market this past Saturday- she's there every week! Check her out! Her inventory (once it's gone it's gone so everyone in your circle won't look like clones-yay!) and her prices are fantastic!!!!

Day Two- Pin to Real Life

So here it is folks, day two! Remember to check out Sarah over at Sarah's Real Life as well! She's the fab fashionista who started this fun challenge! I'm finding lots of inspiration on Pinterest. Love that site! How did we find recipes, home decorating ideas, and 50 ways to tie a scarf before it?! Who knows!! I found a lovely new blogger named Julie Sarinana of Sincerely, Jules. Love her style and the vibe of her blog! Much more than just fashion. Super fun!! I promptly added her to my Bloglovin feed! Today's ensemble is comprised of a cute chambray dress with military inspired jacket that are similar, but we wear them a bit differently. I'm having fun finding these pins to get my creative juices flowing and then I make them my own. I'm pushing it a bit with the length of my dress for work, but I'll be behind my desk most of the day so I figured I could pull it off. I also have lovely pockets (yay!) so I can kinda sneakily pull it down while I walk if need be! HA HA!

"Pin to Real Life" Style Challenge

I'm joining the fabulous and fun Sarah from Sarah's Real Life for another fun fashion challenge!!YAY! I joined her in Feb of this year for the "Take One, Pass it On" challenge and had super fun with it! I love linking up with other awesome fashionistas so I THANK her for inviting me to join in! She is doing it for a week, but  I may try to extend it for the month of July. We'll see...It's due time for me to engage in another month long challenge and I sure could use the inspiration. The details of the "Pin to Real Life" challenge can be found on Sarah's fabulous blog.   I haven't been pinning much fashion on Pinterest lately (lots 'o recipes!!) so we'll see how this goes. I spent a good part of last night pinning and remembered how much fun it is to use the interwebs for fashion inspiration! Of course I follow many lovely ladies blog's, but Pinterest can make it so much more accessible!! My inspiration photo is linked back to an online store called, "Daily Chic", but I couldn't find the exact image on their website. Super cute site for shopping-  I plan to show them some economic love soon! ;-)
