The Importance of Tailoring...

...is not being demonstrated by my ensemble today! You may not be able to tell from the pic (because I very carefully posed to make things look fine), but I've got a serious case of the droopy drawers today! Yikes!!!! I usually don't have this issue, as my caboose is ample enough to fill out my pants most days, but these are somehow not working! I am very consistently one size at the stores and brands I shop most frequently, and today shows one of the few exceptions! I love these cropped pants from Old Navy!!! LOVE them, but the size that I am in every other bottom in the store, gives me droopy drawers in these pants. And no, I haven't recently lost weight. I did however, buy these online without trying them on and kinda ignored how loose they were on my first wear. They only got worse this time. This is a bummer and sometimes an issue with the discount stores. I have been lucky enough to not really have this issue very often with Old Navy, Target, Kohl's etc. And you all know that I LOVE me some bargain stores. Keep this in mind when shopping- in any store- but especially in the bargain stores. Sometimes due to the slightly lower quality and mass production, the sizes can really vary from one item to the next. I do not fault Old Navy (in fact I love them for making me a size 2 again!) but a lesson to myself, that even a well known and beloved store can trip me up on sizes every now and then. I am going to do a big clothing care "no-no" and put these in the dryer tonight to see if I can get a few more wears out of them without looking like I didn't quite make it to the bathroom. ;-) I'll wear them again before it gets too cool to show the results (if I don't shrink them down to Barbie doll size). Back up plan may be to try and get them altered...although, altering can be pricey and if that cost will be more than what I paid for these, I may just pass.

THANKFUL That the Holidays are Here!

So, since I last posted we had the "kick off" holiday of this, my very favorite time of year-Thanksgiving!! It all starts in October really, with my love of fall as a whole, then we glide into the cooler weather and yummy food/family time of Thanksgiving. December brings all things Christmas (while I know there are other holidays to celebrate, I celebrate Christmas and this is my blog, so I'm saying Christmas instead of the PC "holiday season"), which includes lights, cheesy music, great made-for-tv movies with washed up stars, hustle and bustle of shopping and cooking, and despite that last one a generally warm, happy, generous and thankful *GLOW* about everything! I LOVE Christmas time!! All that really has nothing to do with fashion (well, besides shopping the sales!), but I had to give a nod to the most wonderful time of the year!  It's still pretty mild here, so my ensembles aren't too bundled up! Here is today's. I'm back to the office most of the time so you'll see my dailies again, even if they are less exciting! :-)

Double Dose

I'll let you guess which day I wore which outfit! Obviously, look #1 was my Halloween ensemble from work. I'm not much of a costume person (not bc I think I'm too cool, but bc I don't feel creative ENOUGH to really nail a good costume), so this outfit was fun and festive, yet still professional enough for a work day. I love this t-shirt from Target, that has been a part of my Halloween ensemble since I bought it three years ago. It stays in REALLY good shape since I only wear it 1x a year! HA HA! Look # 2 is the outfit I'm wearing today. I'm not totally in love, but I think it works. I had one of those uninspired morning dressings. Oh well, all in all I think it turned out OK. I do, however, LOVE my tights! I am so excited to be wearing tights and boots- one of my all time fav fashion combos! You may not be able to see the tight detail, but they are grey with 2 shades each of blue and green stripes! Some of my fav colors to wear all rolled up into one fun pair of tights. Also, the boots don't translate well color-wise. They look very brownish, when in reality, they are more grey-ish taupe. Neutral, but more of a cool neutral (grey-ish) than a warm neutral (taupe-ish). Since our fall has been very mild thus far (until we were hit with winter today- BAM!), I haven't been dreaming up fall ensembles just yet. I'm excited to take some time assessing the ol' wardrobe and coming up with some new combos for this new (and my favorite) season!
