TGIF!

Not much to say today other than I am SO ready for this weekend! It's been a GREAT but LONG week! I was really excited to wake up and get dressed today...Friday workday, gorgeous weather, open toed shoes! YAY! Off to enjoy the weekend! A very happy one to you all as well! I didn't post much this week, sorry! Will try to share my weekend ensembles with you!

Necklace- small one- gift from my love, long- ??ordered after seeing on the today show around Xmas! It's a "star sign/constellation" pendant. Super cool!

Post Miami Haze...

Catching up after having a CRAZY week at work and then a FABULOUS trip to Miami for 4 days! I admire the bloggers who post even while out of their normal routines. Maybe I'll get better with more experience/time s a blogger, but as work gets busy or even life in general I find that I slack on here. Sorry. It's not that I don't care, it's just that if something has to suffer, at this point it's this. Here is an update of some of my Miami ensembles. We were there for a friend's wedding so there is a "night before party" outfit and a wedding day outfit. I didn't snap any beach pics though. ;-) Also, I've included today's ensemble in an attempt to get back on track with my work outfits!

Dress- Urban Outfitters (I wish I'd asked for a full length photo. This has a high-low hemline and it was really striking on. I loved the way it flowed as I walked! A fun dress for sure!)

The weekend was GREAT and now back to real life. Hopefully the warmth and sunshine will follow us from Miami!

Tax Day Blues!

I don't really have the blues...but I'm wearing BLUE pants...if you can't tell. ;-) Today I copied one of my fav fashionistas- Olivia Palermo. She's always so fashionable, even in jeans and a tee. When looking for photos of inspiration, I found this one and thought "hey, that's work appropriate!" Perfect! I also love any excuse to wear my colorful skinnies to work. I think they add such fun and flair to what can be a boring pool of outfits. Instead of a patterned top, I kept it a little more sedate (I've got a lecture today and don't want to be too distracting! ;-)), by wearing a plain, but nice black tee. You can't see the detailing, but where it lacks pattern, it makes up for in a little bit of texture at the neckline. Happy Monday and tax day all!!!

Spring Has Sprung in DC!

Yesterday it was in the 90s! Yes, the 90s! Temps more likely to be seen in July. So, we had a really gorgeous 5 day spring season from last Friday to Tuesday. Holy moly! It's ok...I've got that warm weather giddiness that I always feel at the beginning of a fresh, new season. I've missed quite a few days on here- my apologies! :-( If you follow me, by now you know that I go in spurts. I've had a lot of "blue shirt" and workout clothes days at work so I don't feel as thrilled to post those. I should post my workout clothes though I guess- I've got some cute stuff and I always  match it! I'm a dork! Ok, that's to come..Here are outfits from the past few days...

Lumpy Layers McGee!

I think the 32 degrees in April has me confused. I put this outfit together this morning and am still not really sure what I was going for. I'm fine with it, but it's not my fav. Meh. I like the idea of it, but not the execution. I think I hate this cardigan. Do you ever do that with your clothes/outfits?? You have them on this pedestal in your head, but they never look or lay the way you want them too?! I have layer envy. Never heard of it?? Well, I just made it up. I envy all those girls who layer up these cute outfits and nothing is lumpy, everything falls in the right place, you don't have to pull on parts or futz all day. Not me though. I suck at layering. I have no idea why. I have to pull at the sleeves, adjust the collar, pull the cardigan around that wants to curl and wrap around my back for some reason...UGH! So between the ensemble not quite turning out the way I thought it would and my layer suckage, it's just not a great fashion day for me. But, oh well...what do we call that... "first world problems"?! I'm hearing more and more about this term lately. Like, how can I complain about lumpy layering when I have a closet full of clothes and some folks don't have any?! OK, yeah, now I feel like an asshole...better stop while I'm ahead, eh?? Lumpy layers...OUT! Have a FAB day all!!

All Dressed Up with No Where To Go!

Well, the sad thing is that I DID in fact have somewhere to be, but my body thought otherwise. I picked a fun and whimsical outfit (whimsical= flower belt), got to work ready to face the day and then BAM my body revolts! I won't go into details, but I became sick out of nowhere and had to resign to it and go home for the day. So, I wore my whimsy fun for about 2 hours and then it was sweatpants city. Oh well, it happens. I wanted to wear that outfit again tomorrow, but my hubby looked at me like I was from crazy town. So...I guess I'll wait a while to wear it again. :-( Anyway, I'm on the mend and showing you today's ensemble alongside yesterday's short-lived one. Happy hump day!!!

Nod to An Easter Egg!

I know Easter has come and gone, but I was feeling very pastel this morning! Thus my nod to an Easter egg outfit! Plus, today is the famous/annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House so I'm still kinda justified!! Hope you all had FAB weekends no matter what you celebrate! I'm also updating a couple additional outfits from the weekend/Friday. I was so busy on Friday that I didn't have time to snap a photo and post anything. I was laughing about my outfit on Friday. I had to grab a  quick change of clothes as I ran out the door that AM since we were serving lunch in honor of doctor's day, but I was teaching class in the AM so I wore workout clothes (couldn't very well serve the docs in workout duds!) So, the reason I was laughing is that I wore my fav H & M blazer and Issac Mizrahi boots AGAIN! You'd think I was in the middle of a wear these two things as much as possible challenge. HA! They are some of my fav go-tos and in a quick outfit decision, very easy to grab! Here goes...
